Times-7 works with a range of RFID industry leading reader platforms to provide the best read performance. We combine and optimise Times-7 market leading Antennas with selected industry readers to offer solutions that are easy to install and maximize identification rates.
Challenge: A railway company was replacing their 15 year old active RFID wagon tracking system with a modern UHF Gen2 based solution. The environment is particularly harsh where tags are exposed 24x7 to climate extremes from well below freezing to hot desert conditions. With the decision made to use passive tags instead of active, the challenge was to fi nd the best performing and hard wearing passive tags available in the market.
Solution: A Times-7 on-metal tag which outperformed the read distance of competitive sized products by 100%. Designed to balance performance, durability and affordability, the Times-7 tag is long lasting and delivers a compelling alternative to more expensive active tags.
Challenge: Current airport baggage tracking systems rely on bar code readers and photoelectric eyes to track bags. Typical identifi cation rates of <90% mean too many bags are manually handled. RFID delivers much higher read rates, however the RFID readers stations currently available are physically large, expensive and complicated to install. They also require expensive shielding in tunnel like enclosures, similar in size to x-ray machines in airports.
Solution: A Times-7 SlimLine Reader Station combines leading RFID readers with Times-7's SlimLine antenna to produce a small, compact unit which is quick and easy to install, and provides read rates of 99.9% at one quarter the price of competitive offerings. The antennas are engineered to use just 10% maximum RF energy output. They optimize read patterns enabling RFID bag labels to be read in any orientation. This eliminates any need for expensive tunnels and curtains.
